The fees for service are:
$200 per initial intake session.
$200 per 50-minute individual therapy session.

Phone sessions and emergency contacts over 10 minutes are billed at the same rate ($40 per 10-minute increment).
I do not bill insurance and fees are due at the time of service.
Using out-of-network benefits.
I do not bill insurance and am considered an out-of-network (OON) provider. Please contact your insurance company to learn about their OON coverage and reimbursement. Many insurance companies will cover a percentage of my fee. If you have coverage, I can provide you with documentation (a superbill) to submit to your insurance company in order to obtain reimbursement.
You are responsible for understanding your insurance benefits. I recommend you contact your insurance company and ask them the following:
What are my out-of-network benefits for mental health treatment?
Is there a deductible that must first be met?
If I pay $200 for my first session (CPT code 90791), what will I be reimbursed?
If I pay $200 for a 50-minute session (CPT code 90834), what will I be reimbursed?
If I pay $320 for an 80-minute session (CPT code 90837), what will I be reimbursed?
You may be able to get partially reimbursed using out-of-network benefits.
Why I don’t bill insurance.
When therapists bill insurance, the insurance company is able to exert control over the course of treatment and medical information. This can impact your:
Privacy. Insurance companies can demand access to your treatment notes, treatment plans, and diagnoses.
Treatment. Insurance companies can decide whether therapy is “medically necessary” for your diagnosis, despite the fact that they are not licensed mental health professionals.
I recognize that there are often financial barriers to treatment. I do offer superbills for patients who have out-of-network (OON) coverage. Please note that using your OON benefits does require that I share a diagnosis with the insurance company and allows the insurance company to request access to your records.
I also reserve a limited number of sliding scale sports in my schedule through the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective.
By not accepting insurance, I’m able to work with you to determine the best approach for your therapy.
